It’s the quiet carriage not
a monastery yet
the gorge that’s bubbling in you
can be heard in outer space
loud as Duke Kanamahoku
surfing waves of umbrage in a flashy shirt
lips pressed tight - not
tight enough
seething sonar, leaking
spectral spite bats
unconfined - we wait
for the first sound
with you.
