Susan Hawthorne #235 some women

some women know they are right
bowl up to you accuse you
unknown crimes undone crimes
they know you are among the hated ones

some women know they are right
they collude in abuse and defend
the indefensible reflecting their fear
they know you are unpersuadable

some women know they are right
to admit that they are wrong
would put into question their lives
they know inside they know
they are wrong

  1. I think this is a poem of some kind of contentment, like the way it segues into the domestic detail without becoming tedious.

  3. Interesting, thank you. It's also a poem to contrast with my one last week, there are some men. I didn't feel the need for balance, but the situations both came my way this week. Odd, isn't it?
