Comrades close the eyes of a fellow Islamic Renaissance party member shot in the head by a government sniper in Dushanbe, Tajikistan. The Islamic Renaissance Party were fighting to overthrow the then Soviet-backed government. After the Coup d'état (1992), a civil war erupted that continued for approximately five years.
