Stuart Rawlinson #39 - Stillness

The girl sits dead
Still in the wicker throne
Slop bowl to her side
The book is held on
Covered palms
Handkerchief absorbs
Impurities from her skin
This is a precious book
Opened at short degrees
Still upright - dressed
For important words
Head not tilted
To save her neck from
A thousand hard covers

A ritual
A moment
Shears across time
The air remains still
A good day to read

  1. reading is the moment lost

    the lost live
    in such a moment

    they are the pages
    turning
    dust turned

    it's lost in the moment
    we read

  2. still as a portrait, pages turn, unnoticed
