Stuart Rawlinson #69 - Stop/Start

stop - start
a life of sprints

jerk forward
crack the rust
the oil is mercury

in the soul

scrap metal
chromed and loaned

steel girders
hanging from cranes
chained and circling

what crane made
the first crane
never mind

leave the hoist
metal rot

turn the engine
stop - start
stop
start

  1. Ah. Good poem. A beauty even.
Mercury, the poison, changes us forever.
