Kerri Shying R # 314 - Twelve Hour Flower *

Twelve Hour Flower

how

 like the flower I am
 no  twenty-four-hour  news cycle

I sleep
a closed umbrella   at nightfall

shy against the moon
churning  dreams

expelling mystery
to the dawn

I am bruised on petal edges
where you touched

too long

  5. A stand of gandhians
    swaying there lawless
    regarding boots and blood
    it always rains

    twelve hour flowers
    beautiful bruised edges
    the basis of petals
    not my own

    the mystery kissed
    the time had come
    for the moist ending
    curtains lights back on
