Kit Kelen #609 - afloat

609
afloat

as if in music

seeing south
where the weather’s from

hardly here yet
casting tree to tree

and set sights lower

establish a garden
in the mind

how often it is
I lose my own tune
though day is getting longer

as if in among the moss
coming from chrysalis

sunlight reaches
in back among us

still sticky with birth
rough tumble before

soon dry, crisp

whirr a little – that’s the way

is it toe-first tepid?
are we Zeus begot head-burst?

beginning’s never blank
it’s of so many things

no perfect garden before
we’re here to make it now
