Stuart Rawlinson #84 - Existential Food Pairing

a plate of indecision
with a side of anxiety
garnish with a slice
of bitterness
wash down with
a gallon of
bittersweet regret
savour the bland notes
colour code each course
this morsel is woody
with a soupçon of
wet moss
vegetal dreams
in a deep sleep’s
undergrowth
molasses in the head
tar in the body
a floral aftertaste
snaps the matted tail
dig down with
the fork - harpoon
another fragrant memory
phenomenologically
lost at the dining table
