Kerri Shying R #366 - North Korean New Year

North Korean New Year

summer    still the lack of calls
from birds   sunk   in cold  the ink

of  unwise treaty each piled upon the next
blown-in  hitch hikers
 on the century
of plenty standing
on the mullock pile

of penury

when the boats stopped  so the birds
fell silent too
the rain avoided  cities
began to sail away to rim the old volcanoes

lick the lids of salt lakes
lie down  on the dessert  in the mall
stumble-bummed refusing
to get up   no move on order

would suffice

the sound that tore the lids off eyes
took every word
blown from pages  incinerated
it’s what God wants
not even the last Trump
can pronounce

it will be the century of Asia
some pundit   who flies past
on a cow
broom  shed   yellow flare of death

never a pillar of salt   just the same plain ash
as the flicker  of that plush cigar
portent of it all
the band said Cubana
my last thing in mind

that music

  1. this music crept by me on the waters...

The isle is full of noises, Sounds, and sweet airs that give delight and hurt not. Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments...

  2. Gets better and better and more and more each time I read it.
