Rob Schackne #649 - "Under the spreading gum"

Under the spreading gum
the bush poet lies
drunk again
his ancient nag

wakes up
he talks a little
touches the reins
three miles from town
nowhere to go

thinks of something true
it looks like a storm
he falls asleep

  1. a sunburnt bloody stockman stood
and in a dismal bloody mood
    ...
    apostrophized his bloody cuddy

    ...

they came up to the bloody creek
the bloody horse was bloody weak
    this moke must sink
    or bloody swim
the same for me as bloody him
    bloody bloody bloody
