Rob Schackne #458 - Since You Asked (10)

Since You Asked (10)

The corners of the lie
where the century waits
no more public spaces
more control, less power
in the places we congregate
citizens prosecuting pleasure
sunshine on a good day
moment's silence, a dream
most nights by children
open, on a silent plain

the lawless lie scattered
from blows, from hot words
the sparks fly off hot winds
let them come, sweet love
a brave new world!

  2. Enjoying the "Since you asked" series - great to know that the lawless are still appearing albeit lying scattered from blows in the brave new world!

    1. Dear Kristen, Thank you (always) for listening. Yes, I reckon the lawless have always lain scattered from blows in the brave new world. Which is testimony to their commitment in shaping that brave new world.

  3. fold in the corners of the lie
see where truth's hung out to dry
tuck soul into its cheerful tune
proclaim our laws over the moon
    don't ever you ask why
